Our History

In 1969, a group of IBM employees got together (each giving $0.25) to form iTHINK Financial (formerly known as IBMSECU). Who would have thought that a set of quarters in 1969 would turn into one of the nation’s largest credit unions with more than $1.5 billion in assets and 95,000 members across the country? In 2019, the credit union celebrated its 50th Anniversary with branch events throughout the year, concluding with the giveaway of a 1969 Ford Mustang Convertible.

iTHINK Financial is a supporter of the World Council of Credit Unions, Inc. (WOCCU). For more than 30 years, WOCCU has been at the forefront of alleviating poverty around the world. Credit Unions provide a not-for-profit, self-sustaining structure that enables people to end the cycle of poverty. WOCCU has Credit Union development projects in 15 countries ranging from Afghanistan and Bolivia to Kenya and Uzbekistan. IBM South Florida Quarter Century Club & Alumni Association

Are you a South Florida IBMer? The IBM South Florida Quarter Century Club and Alumni Association, Inc. is currently soliciting members. The IBMSFQCCAA was formed to promote social and community activities for current and former IBM employees who live or have worked in South Florida.

Who’s eligible for membership?

  • Current and former IBM employees with a South Florida connection who have at least 5 years of service
  • Spouses of deceased IBM employees

Members will be able to utilize resources of the Association to find and connect with other IBM alumni and participate in Association sponsored sports and social activities. While you qualify to become an Association member by being a current or former employee with at least five years of service, membership in the IBMSFQCCAA is not automatic. You must apply for membership in the Association and pay the annual dues which have been set at $20.00 per year.
